The Ordinary Serum Foundation

I managed to get my hands upon the highly awaited The Ordinary Serum Foundation*. I've been playing around with it applying it with various tools and ways and I thought I'd give you my thoughts. I also picked up the High-Adherence Silicone Primer*. The foundation is very fluid and feels like nothing on the skin so its a very comfortable to wear. The pigmentation is also certainly there, it really neutralised my redness. I ordered shade 1.1P which is near perfect for me but they do say you can get away with more shades due to them being different colour finishes depending on your skins undertone.

I tried applying the primer after my usual skincare and then the foundation with my beauty blender as I had been people online had done well with applying it that way but with my skin or possibly the mix of products it did not work out so well. It started to gather and became very patchy.

So I decided to take it all off and try again without the primer and with a flat top foundation brush. I found this certainly worked better for my skin and didn't flake and go patchy like previously but did look a little too matte for my taste so I sprayed some of my Pixi Glow Mist over the top just to add some moisture back.

This is a before and after I applied just the foundation in natural light and no retouching. Its certainly the cheapest foundation I have ever tried at £5.70 and definitely the most comfortable. I feel that if you had oily skin this would be really good but if you are drier I would suggested really prepping the skin.

A few hours on I left it did look better with my slightly oily t-zone had hydrated bits of it so it did look better with time. I would certainly suggest you try this because its such good value and could be a replacement for other high-end alternatives.
