FeelUnique Haul

I had a little splurge on FeelUnique after getting a £200 voucher from the Glitter Squad with my makeover so I thought I'd show you some of the things I picked out along with the samples from my order.

First up I ordered a Sigma Spa® Express Brush Cleaning Mat. I had been using the B. Makeup Brush Cleanser but I did find that deeper in the bristles on more compact brushes just weren't getting cleaned properly so I decided for a more substantial clean I would invest in the mat. I used it with some Johnsons baby shampoo and it certainly was quick at cleaning the brushes and didn't flair them at all. If you have a lot of brushes I would really recommend this.

The second thing I picked up was Benefit Cosmetics Stay Don't Stray Stay-Put Primer, I had this used with my FeelUnique Makeover and I fell in love with the pigmentation and the lightweight feeling of this product. It works as a primer for both concealers and eyeshadows but I've found with the pigmentation I have managed to use it as a concealer without having to put further product on top of it. It blends super easily and I really recommend you give this a shot.

The third thing I bought was the Origins Original Skin and GinZing Set. I had a Origins Facial in the new store in Cambridge and she used all the products on my skin and I loved how soft and glowing my skin was so I had to pick up the set. The price was £32 which covers the cost of the serum so you effectively got the other three products free! It also came with a little bag to store them in which was a nice touch.

The fourth item I bought was the Estée Lauder Colour Portfolio gift set. I thought seeing as I have never tried the products out it would be a good way of experimenting. It has 28 Best-Selling EyeShadows, 6 Pure Colour Envy Blushes, 9 Pure Colour Envy Lip Colours, 1 Pure Colour Envy Gloss, 2 Smoky Kohl Eyeliners.

The two samples I got to choose was a Burberry Lips Lip Velvet in Military Red and a Vichy Normaderm Anti Blemish Care sample.  The Burberry lipstick is just a thing of beauty and I haven't yet brought myself to use it because the pattern is so beautiful.

The Unique Beauty Gift that came with my order with it being over £100 was a huge haul of goodies:

Feelunique Vanity Case

Benefit Cosmetics The Porefessional Mask

Tanya Burr Mini Marshmallows Nail Polish

So far I've tried the Bed Head Shampoo and Conditioner and the Caudalie make-up remover and I'm pretty impressed.

ESPA Lip Oil Christmas Crackers

Just thought I'd show you my favourite little beauty cracker from 2016. I picked up the ESPA Nourishing Lip Oil cracker from Liberty during my quick trip after working with the products previously I decided to splash out! I think these would look really sophisticated on your dining room table at Christmas.

For just the cost of the one original lip oil being £19 to get three oils for £29 was a steal! The two other oils are red and pink. The colours are nice and festive and good if you are looking for hydration in the cold winter months.

I think this would be lovely for people of any age, it even says that it helps minimise the appearance of fine lines and keeps lips supple, perfect for those mistletoe moments! It contains Omega Oils, collagen-boosting Indian Gentian Leaves, plumping Hyaluronic Acid and Konjac Root to deeply condition lips.

Christmassy Baking - Mince Pies and Gingerbread House

To get myself into the festive sprit I deicide to whip up some quick Mince Pies, why by a box when you can make them in a couple of minutes! I simply took some shop bought short crust pastry and filled it with Waitrose ready made mincemeat and to make them look a bit special I cut the tops of the pies into little stars. I did follow a BBC good food recipe for the temperatures and timings which is here.

A Voila!

No one would ever know that you didn't make them from scratch!

I also decided to make a gingerbread house from scratch.... I did not feel this was worthy of a full blog post as Pinterest had raised my expectations over my gingerbread skills! So I just thought I'd add it to this post in case you wanted to try and also make your own gingerbread house! The recipe I used was also from BBC Good Food which can be found here.

FeelUnique Benefit Cosmetics Glitter Squad Visit!

Last Friday I had won the amazing opportunity for the Benefit Glitter Squad in cooperation with FeelUnique to come to my house and give me a Magical Makeover! The competition revolved around FeelUnique's new Makeup Live app that lets you try out makeup live using your front camera on your phone from the comfort of your own home. You can also make purchases through the app when you find the perfect combination of eye makeup and lip products.

The Glitter Squad came in a glammed up van with two makeup vanities in the back and glittery walls which I was jealous I couldn't have in my house. We were greeted by Jordan with Ferraro Roche which is always a good start!

'

I had the lovely Lauren from Benefit doing my makeup and my friend Billie had Laurretta. With there just being the two of us we got VIP treatment and had full makeovers. We went out after the makeovers so they glammed us up ready for it. I got a lot of makeup envy from their kits and just wish I could have that amount of different makeup!

I loved the burgundy smokey eye with a brown nude lip that Lauren gave me, I learnt so much from her along the way with how to contour and highlight for my face shape. We also got Benefit Cosmetics goodie bags to take with us with a full size 3D Browtones and sample sizes of a few other products.

Overall I just had such a great time with the Benefit girls and a massive thank you to them and FeelUnique. I would really reccomened shopping with FeelUnique because the shipping is a great price and comes really quickly whenever I've ordered from them. They also have great prices and variety of stock so go check them out!

Tanya Burr Autumn Lipsticks

I just picked up two of Tanya Burr's Autumn collection lipsticks. I got Pink Cocoa and Big Kiss. The formula is so silky smooth and feels weightless on your lips. They are also enriched with Vitamin E for a moisturising formula. Also how can you not love the gold packaging, they have a really nice weight to them making them feel luxury and expensive.

This first picture is of Big Kiss, its such a good red. I would imagine this would look great on any skin tone, I always struggle to find a red lip I like but this is such a nice rich slightly darker red.

This picture is of Pink Cocoa. This is definitely going to be my go to nude lipstick, its a better version of my own lip colour and its stunning! I would really recommend this colour.

You can really see how silky the formula is in the swatches, they have a really nice satin finish. The pigmentation is amazing when I tried it on my lips you just needed a quick swipe and you could already see how much coverage you get from them.

Available now in Superdrug and FeelUnique The shades I picked up can be a little tricky to buy because they are so popular I had to order them separately between the two websites. For £6.99 and 3g of product you really can't go wrong with these.

Charlotte Tilbury First Purchases

I've finally bitten the bullet and bought myself some Charlotte Tilbury goodies. I have a new counter in my local John Lewis store so I just had to try it out. I talked to a wonderful woman and she gave me a full look that she thought would be good for me as I struggle with finding the right foundation for my dry skin. I then attended a launch party for the John Lewis beauty hall, launching Charlotte Tilbury, Mac and Marc Jacobs. With 15% off and a redeemable £5 back from the ticket price I couldn't resist a few purchases.

My first purchase was Charlotte's Magic Cream. this is her coveted secret formula. Her secret blend of  ingredients, including BioNymph Peptide Complex, floral extracts and a hyaluronic acid booster to lift and add moisture.
Features:
• Unique ‘multi-tasking’ anti-age BioNymph Peptide Complex stimulates collagen production while fighting free radicals
• Features SPF15 & an anti-UVA filter to protect the skin from the sun’s ageing effects
• Sodium Hyaluronate forms a film of hyaluronic acid, while Wild Pansy extracts help renew over the skin to seal-in moisture
• Rosehip & camellia oils plus antioxidant vitamin E transform grey complexions into hydrated, mirror-shine skin
• Ideal canvas to apply makeup
• Paraben-free

I bought the magic cream after much research and bordering running out of my previous ESPA ProMoisture moisturiser. I decided that due to having the SPF added in and being so good under makeup  I just had to upgrade. It has such a silky texture and absorbs so well into my skin.

My second purchase was the Colour Chameleon Eyeshadow Pencil in Bronze Garnet. I've been using the Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24 hour eyeshadow in On and On Bronze. However I did fall in love with Charlotte's Bronze Garnet pencil. The colour payoff of this product is just phenomenal I had tried this a few times on my hand and even with washing it multiple times and rubbing it didn't budge, this was when I knew I had to get this product.  Infused with Synthetic Sapphire, a mineral gemstone with natural soft-focus powers, for a smooth, perfect finish. This shade was suggested for green eyes but I have very multi-coloured eyes so I think even if you have hazel eyes it would look beautiful.

Overall, if you have the budget I would thoroughly recommend these products. Products like skincare I really think are worth splashing out on. Magic cream comes in at £70 and the pencil comes in at £19. I would recommend looking around as I got a very good offer with John Lewis. Often if there is a few products you want they may be available in sets as well especially coming up to Christmas!

Maybelline Baby Lips Pumpkin Spice Review

I decided to get the Maybelline Baby Lips Pumpkin Spice purely over the fact I love cinnamon and pumpkin and autumnal flavours. I have to say I am quite surprised at how it came out. The pigmentation is great and keeps my lips feeling very soft without a bad taste. I wouldn't completely recognise the taste as pumpkin spice but it is very nice either way. It claims to give 8 hours of hydration but I haven't tested out the product enough to vouch for that but I would say it does a great job considering the price point of this product being £2.99.

Lush Cosmetics Pumpkin Bath Bomb

This little chappy was part of the Lush Cosmetics Halloween range and unfortunately he is now no longer available, but some stores may have some left. Pumpkin Bath bomb is super cute and such a big scent. We could smell this from all over the house when I had used it. My skin also smelt amazing even the next morning after bathing in it.

The bath went bright orange but didn't stain thankfully! It certainly was a bath ballistic as it fizzed away in no time! Its main smell is citrus and vanilla and cinnamon.

I would really recommended it if you can still find it, unfortunately I couldn't find it on Lush's website anymore.

Tanya Burr Soft Luxe Swatches and Review

I've been testing these beautiful Tanya Burr products out for a while now so I can give a good review of them. The colour choice is so good, you can easily go from day to night with them by smoking them up a bit more with the darker shades.

This is the Birthday Suit palate the colours go in this order; Marzipan, Toast, Cocoa Sugar and Soft Truffle. I would say this is more of an everyday palate than the other in the collection but you could still go darker by using more of Soft Truffle. Really good pigmentation and glittery shades are so pretty.

This is the Enchanted Dream palate the shades are; Moonlit Walk, Cocoa Plum, Berry Soufflé and Magic Carpet. I followed Tanya's tutorial when I first received the palate and the colours are so pretty together and I've worn the look a lot. The pigment playoff is really great with these products.

I also picked up one of the matte lip colours in Martha Moo, its like your natural lip colour but better. This stays on forever, I wore it on holiday in Italy in amongst eating loads of pasta this stayed put like a pro! I was really happy with this product, it is a tad fiddly to apply but the applicator is pretty good.

Overall I would thoroughly recommend these products, the pricing is great and pigment payoff is brilliant. They're available on Feel Unique and Superdrug. I even managed to get mine on 3 for 2 with Superdrug so look out for offers!

Lush Monsters' Ball Bath Bomb Review

I love this little guy! First off how cute is he?! Lush has done well with design of their Halloween product range this year.

The water goes the prettiest combination of purple, pink and blue; when fully mixed in the bath it went a dark purple. I think there was faint bits of glitter due to noticing myself having gold glitter on my skin once I'd come out of the bath.

His main scent is Lime oil and Neroli oil, his eye is made of fair trade organic cocoa butter which melts away when he's in the water. It also has Toning and relaxing Olibanum oil.

If you like fresh scents this is definitely one for you. It made my whole house smell amazing just being sat in the bag. Its a fresh zesty smell and lingers on your skin after you bathe in its goodness.

He's not around for much longer so go out and grab him either in store or here on the Lush website for £4.25; https://uk.lush.com/products/bath-bombs/monsters-ball

Pumpkin Spice Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Icing

I was feeling very seasonal so I decided to have a little bake inspired by pumpkin spice. The recipe was from allrecipes http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/8521/pumpkin-cupcakes.aspx
I personally didn't feel like making my own cream cheese icing, so I used Betty Crocker cream cheese icing as they always taste amazing. If you want to make your own icing the link to the recipe shows you how. I also used spider web and orange cases from Tesco. Finding pumpkin in a shop was quite the challenge but I managed to get it in the American section of a Sainsbury's, I've also seen people get it from Waitrose and Tesco but I couldn't find it. I also added a few spooky eye sprinkles I got from TK Max.

What you will need:

280g plain flour
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon bicarbonate of soda
110g butter, softened
200g caster sugar
5 tablespoons brown soft sugar
2 eggs, room temperature
180ml milk
250g pumpkin, cooked and pureed

Method

1. Preheat an oven to 190 C / Gas 5. Grease 24 muffin cups, or line with paper muffin cases. Sift together the flour, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, clove, allspice, salt, baking powder and bicarb; set aside.
2. Beat 110g of butter, caster sugar and brown sugar with an electric mixer in a large bowl until light and fluffy. The mixture should be noticeably lighter in colour.
3. Add the room-temperature eggs one at a time, allowing each egg to blend into the butter mixture before adding the next.
4.Stir in the milk and pumpkin puree after the last egg
5.Stir in the flour mixture, mixing until just incorporated
6. Pour the cupcake mixture into the prepared muffin cases
7.Bake in the preheated oven until golden and the tops spring back when lightly pressed, about 25 minutes. Cool in the tins for 5 minutes before removing to cool completely on a wire rack. Allow cupcakes to fully cool and then decorate however you wish. I lined the nozzle of the piping back with orange colouring to try and create a two toned icing but it didn't turn out as great as expected. You'll have to try out the recipe and show me your creations!

Benefit Cosmetics BIG Sexy Lip Kit Swatches

First off, I'm obsessed with benefit products. When I saw they were releasing lipsticks I just had to get my hands on them. The kit comes in the cutest little tin with the four shades inside. The concept of the lipsticks is that they come with the lip liner built in. The product is in a tear drop shape with the tip of it being the liner side and the base being the main colour.

The packaging is so cute based on their number one selling mascara They're Real!

They come in four shades; Flame Game, Pink Thrills, Revved-Up Red and Lusty Rose. My personal favourite is Lusty Rose, its the perfect nude lip.

Benefit Cosmetics call these fun sized but with 4 x 0.75 g Net wt. 4 x 0.02 oz of product they are a really good size. Really great pigmentation and super easy to blend, they certainly don't feel like you have anything on your lips and feel cake free.  The kit costs £24.50 which seems very reasonable for the four lipsticks. The colours supposedly suit every skin tone so they are definitely worth a shot!

Lush Sparkling Pumpkin Bubble Bar Review

I purchased the Lush Cosmetics Sparkling Pumpkin whilst in the Oxford Street branch last so I thought I'd give you my thoughts.

First off its just beautiful and sparkly! Absolutely love the look of this bubble bar. Who could resist something so sparkly.

I broke the pumpkin into quarters to get the maximum amount of baths out of it and was very pleasantly surprised to get so many bubbles and a nice orange colour to the water.

The smell of this bubble bar is also possibly my favourite sent I've smelt of their range. The main ingredients  are juniperberry oil, lime oil and grapefruit oil. I thought it smelt very zesty and in my opinion I thought it smelt like sherbet. My skin felt lovely and fresh after using this and a little sparkly. I would definitely repurchase this.
